About Me

Hey there! I am Cherie, a UK-based visual storyteller with an interest in working on projects with strong narratives, inspired by Chinese culture, theatrical production, literature and mythology.

My work is most recognisable by my use of dynamic posing and dramatic lighting to create highly atmospheric and moody pieces, that draws the viewer into the story and its world, immersing them into the narrative.

I often use my platform to raise awareness and educate audiences on contemporary issues, as seen in my dyslexia zines and my history-based jigsaw puzzle A Jigsaw Worth A Hundred Years, which  I developed with the intention of making use of the kinetic learning style to encourage interest in cultural history.  Additionally, I am a co-founder of Pigeonhole Illustrations, an online magazine with a focus on sharing people’s stories and experiences through an artistic lens; I co-founded this project with my university friend, Anaab.

Moving forward, I aspire to work on more projects with strong narratives, like editorial, concept and character art.

I can be found on multiple social media platforms such as Instagram and LinkedIn. I can be contacted through email at dearmacherieart@gmail.com
